The Floral Dance Quilt Block of the Month - June - The Rose Block

Roses are, of course, the true symbol of love, but each colour holds a different meaning. The beautiful pink roses in these two blocks express gratitude, admiration and femininity so are often chosen to gift to loved one. Stitch the Rose motif with its four symmetrical rose buds in each corner and simple applique stems. The Rose Bowl Block features an open rose with mirror image buds beside it planted in a pretty applique bowl with  appliqué stems and leaves too – the classic flowers to include in your quilt.

The Floral Dance Quilt is a pieced celebration of our favourite flowers all in one stunning quilt. Weve chosen twelve flowers to represent each month of the year then designed two blocks for each flower using a variety of patchwork and appliqué skills. Once joined together they create a beautiful year of flowers surrounding a central floral motif. Keep the instructions to build up your own floral quilt block library and use them to make smaller items too.

The Blocks are surrounded by a floral appliqué border and the whole quilt can be made using the Quilt-As-You-Go method so you can quilt each Block as you make it then join them together using this simple technique. Or you can simply piece and quilt all the blocks together. You’ll learn a variety of techniques along the way too. Collect them all to make twenty five Blocks to piece together into your very own Floral Dance Quilt – a true celebration of flowers showcasing your skills.

Once again a brilliant video. Thank you it really helps. I’m keeping up doing them monthly so very pleased. Sadly I made a mistake on one of the daisy blocks but had done the appliqué before I noticed😡 hope my friend doesn’t see it!
