Pinking Shears are such a useful piece of sewing equipment as they can be used to neaten raw fabric edges instead of overlocking and we use them all the time for trimming seam allowances to remove bulk and to help a seam lie flatter when turned right side out.

Features

·      High-grade, stainless-steel blades with a precision-ground edge that stays sharp longer and cuts all the way to the tip.

·      Extended lower blade helps lift fabric from the work surface for precise cuts.

·      Ergonomic contoured Softgrip® handle. These have been designed for comfort and control due to their sculpted finger and thumb loops to fit the hand, which minimizes pressure and reduces hand fatigue during long tasks.

·      The bent handle design keeps materials flat for precise cuts every time.

·      Larger handle loops fit hands of all sizes

·      Cuts a zig-zag edge to reduce the fabric from fraying and keep the raw edges neat.

·      Fiskars

The Fiskars scissors with orange handles are a Finnish design icon, born in the village of Fiskars, Finland in 1967. They were the world’s first plastic-handled scissors which changed the way scissors were thought of as they were lightweight, ergonomic, easy to use and offered exceptional performance. Over a billion pairs of Classic scissors have been sold worldwide.

How to Care for your Pinking Shears

1.     Wipe the blades after each use as this prevents build-up of lint and fibres that can get caught in the pivot area and interfere with the cutting.

2.     From time to time, wash your Pinking Shears with soap and water then rinse and dry before using or storing.

Oil your Pinking Shears every once in a while at the screw assembly and between the blades at the pivot area. Sewing machine oil is a good choice for this. Wipe the excess oil off the blades to prevent staining your fabric.
