This is a fusible fleece or wadding which is mid weight and fixed to the wrong side of a fabric to give it extra body and volume. It’s soft and flexible and made from synthetic fibres. It’s often used in quilting particularly for home accessories such as cushions and bags but is also great for clothing too. It’s the perfect wadding for many of our Amber Makes kits as it’s just the right weight for our printed fabrics and easy to use if you want to add a little body and shape to your finished projects. You can also quilt through it without the need for an extra backing fabric.

How to use Fusible Fleece

1. Place the fabric you want to attach the fusible fleece to, WS up.
2. Place the fusible fleece with the glue side down on top. The glue side is the slightly rougher, grainier side.
3. Place a damp cloth (like a tea towel) over the fusible fleece and press your iron on top of it. 
4. Hold the iron in place for 10 to 15 seconds then move it to the next section and repeat. Every now and then, lift your cloth and check to see if the fusible fleece is firmly glued in place. If not, keep pressing until it is.
5. After fixing, leave to cool down completely so it is firmly fused.
